Shaninomi ‘Shani’ Eribo

He originally began his career as a construction project manager in 2007 leading the delivery of a US$50M portfolio of residential and hospitality projects. His desire to work at the intersection of the built environment and sustainable development led him on a 2-year transition into the nonprofit sector between 2011 and 2013 when he joined ActionAid as a high-value fundraiser. In 2019, he qualified as an ‘EDGE (Green Building) Expert’ licensed by the International Finance Corporation to provide green building advisory services globally. To that end, he has supported several developers in achieving the EDGE Green Building Certification on their projects.

At GreenSquareMeter, Shani is channeling his passion for environmental sustainability along with competencies in real estate development and fundraising into co-creating solutions to address Canada’s housing affordability crisis.  He is additionally a senior fundraising consultant with Global Philanthropic Canada and is also undertaking a number of philanthropic research projects at Carleton University.

He holds a BSc in Estate Management from the Obafemi Awolowo University in Nigeria, an MSc In Corporate Communications & Public Affairs from the Robert Gordon University in Scotland, and recently completed the Master’s in Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership at Carleton University where he was awarded the Dr Tessa Hebb Fellowship in Social Innovation.  He achieved the PRINCE2 project management certification in 2008.
